Fabric selection depends on the dress silhouette, weight class, and end use. Drape fabrics (silk, rayon, chiffon, georgette, satin) are used for slip dresses, wrap dresses, and evening styles. Structured fabrics (ponte, scuba, thick crepe, bengaline) are used for bodycon, A-line, and fit-and-flare silhouettes. We source from LA mills and internationally certified suppliers to match your drape, weight, and price requirements.

Full package manufacturing covers every production step: fabric sourcing, lining sourcing, pattern making, grading, fit sampling, bulk cutting, sewing, zipper installation, finishing (hemming, serging, pressing), quality inspection, and branded packaging. You submit your tech pack and approve the fit sample; we handle all sourcing, vendor coordination, and production. Full package is preferred because it removes the risk of sourcing mismatched fabrics, incorrect zipper types, or incompatible lining weights for the dress silhouette.

Our minimum is 50 pieces per style per colorway. Dress construction involves more steps than basic apparel — lining attachment, invisible zipper installation, hemming on drape fabrics, and smocking or gathering all add production time and setup requirements. For full private label dresses with custom woven labels, swing tags, and retail-ready packaging, we recommend 100 pieces minimum. Volume orders of 300 or more pieces qualify for tiered pricing.

Yes. Full lining (body and skirt lined separately, then joined at the waistband or dress seam) and invisible zipper installation are standard services. Lining fabric is selected based on the dress shell — typically silk or polyester charmeuse for drape fabrics, cotton voile for lightweight wovens, and polyester taffeta for structured styles. Invisible zipper installation requires a specialist machine and careful pressing before sewing; our sewers are trained specifically for invisible zipper insertion to ensure a clean, flat finish from the exterior.

Yes. Smocked dresses use elastic shirring thread sewn in rows across the bodice — typically 6 to 18 rows depending on the design. Tiered dresses require careful gathering ratios (typically 1.5:1 to 2:1 fabric to finished width) at each tier seam; if the ratio is inconsistent, tiers won't hang evenly. Ruched dresses use gather stitching along a seam to create controlled volume — the placement and density of gathering is mapped in the tech pack. All three techniques are validated in the fit sample before bulk cutting begins.

Closure options include invisible zippers (center back, side seam), exposed zippers (back or side), button plackets (shirt dresses), wrap ties (wrap dresses), hook-and-eye closures, and snap tape. Hemming options include blind hem (invisible stitch, standard for wovens), rolled hem (ultra-fine, for chiffon and georgette), lettuce hem (stretch knit edge), serged hem, and horsehair braid hem (adds body to skirt hem on eveningwear). Neckline finishes include facing, binding, and Hong Kong finish. All closures and finishes are specified in the tech pack and confirmed in the first fit sample.

Lead time from tech pack submission to sample delivery is typically 2-3 weeks; bulk production follows after sample approval in 5-7 weeks.

Yes. Private label dress manufacturing includes custom woven labels, printed care labels with your brand details, hangtags and swing tags, custom poly bags, and retail-ready packaging. Labels are sewn at the center back neck, side seam, or waistband per your spec. Hangtags are attached at the brand-standard location. Dresses can be folded and poly-bagged individually or hung on hangers with garment bags for retail delivery. We recommend 100 pieces minimum for full private label setups to offset label and packaging minimums.
