Our process

Jeans Production Process

Every step managed and quality-checked, from denim testing and sampling to wash finishing and bulk delivery.

Jeans tech pack design silhouette, pocket layout, hardware specs, and wash review

Design & Tech Pack

Designs are reviewed for silhouette, rise, pocket placement, hardware specs, and wash treatment. Denim weight, stretch content, and selvedge requirements are confirmed before sampling begins.

Denim fabric sampling weight verification and pre-production wash test

Fabric & Sampling

Denim fabrics are sourced, weight-verified, and shrinkage-tested (denim shrinks 3-8%, accounted for in pattern grading). A first fit sample is sewn and washed to confirm proportions, pocket depth, and wash consistency.

Jeans bulk production denim assembly, rivet setting, and wash finishing Los Angeles

Bulk Production

Denim cut with precision dies for consistent sizing. Assembly includes chain or single-needle stitching, rivet setting, zipper insertion, waistband attachment, and belt loop application with in-line QC at each station. Wash finishing and hardware application complete the garment.

Jeans quality control and delivery final inspection and packaging Los Angeles

QC & Delivery

Final inspection checks measurements, seam integrity, hardware function, wash consistency, and colorfastness. Packed per your specs: folded, poly-bagged, or retail-ready with custom hang tags.

Jeans Manufacturing FAQ

Denim weight (measured in ounces per square yard) determines how a jean feels, drapes, and breaks in. Lightweight denim (8-10oz) is soft and drapey, better for warm weather and fashion styles. Midweight (10-12oz) is the standard for everyday jeans, structured but comfortable. Heavyweight denim (13-14oz+) develops better fades, holds creases, and is preferred for raw and selvedge styles. Most contemporary fashion jeans use 10-12oz with 2-5% elastane for comfort stretch.
Full package manufacturing means we handle every step from design to finished garment: fabric sourcing, pattern making, sample production, bulk cutting and sewing, wash finishing, quality inspection, and branded packaging. You provide the concept and approve the sample; we deliver production-ready jeans to your warehouse or 3PL. This contrasts with CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) arrangements where the brand sources and ships their own fabric. Full package is preferred by most startups and emerging brands because it reduces the number of vendors you manage and simplifies cash flow. Our full package price covers denim, hardware, wash, and all manufacturing operations.
Wash treatment dramatically changes how a finished jean looks and feels. Stone wash uses pumice stones with water to soften fabric and create a worn, faded look. Enzyme wash uses biological enzymes to soften denim without the abrasion of stone washing; more controlled, less fabric stress. Bleach wash creates a lighter, more dramatic fade. Hand sanding and hand scraping add localized wear at the thighs, knees, and seat. Overdye applies a new color over existing denim for tonal finishes. All wash treatments are tested for colorfastness before full production runs.
Our minimum is 100 pieces per style per colorway. Denim requires higher MOQs than t-shirts or hoodies because construction is more complex: 5-pocket construction, chain stitching, rivet setting, button and zipper sourcing, and wash finishing all add production steps. For full private label jeans with custom rivets, patches, woven labels, and branded hang tags, we require 150 pieces minimum. Volume orders of 500+ qualify for tiered pricing.
We produce slim, straight, relaxed, wide-leg, barrel, tapered, bootcut, flare, and cargo denim styles. Drop-crotch and balloon silhouettes are available for streetwear brands. Each fit requires unique pattern grading: thigh width, rise height, leg opening, and seat curve all vary by silhouette. Tech pack specifications confirm the fit before any sample is cut.
All denim fabrics are tested before cutting. Tests include weight verification (oz per square yard vs. specified), shrinkage after washing (denim can shrink 3-8%, which must be accounted for in pattern grading), colorfastness under wash, rubbing, and perspiration (ISO 105 standards), and stretch recovery for elastane-blend denim. Wash treatments are sample-tested on production fabric before approval. Hardware (rivets, buttons, zippers) is tested for corrosion resistance and pull strength.
Yes. Stretch denim with 2-5% elastane is one of our most requested denim types. The elastane content adds horizontal stretch (two-way) or four-way stretch depending on the weave direction. Stretch denim requires careful shrinkage testing because elastane recovery can vary significantly between washes. We also produce power-stretch denim for high-compression athletic-denim crossover styles.
Yes. We specifically work with startup denim brands and designers sourcing their first production run. Low MOQ minimums (100 pieces per style) make a first run viable. The process starts with a tech pack review, then fabric selection from our stock denim library, then a fit sample at production cost. Most startup brands go through 1-2 fit rounds before approving for bulk. If you do not have a tech pack, our pattern team can help develop one from reference garments or detailed sketches. Small batch denim production from 100 pieces with no overseas factory minimum requirements and no factory trial fees.
Yes. Volume orders of 500+ pieces qualify for tiered pricing, typically 8-12% savings per additional 250-piece tier. Volume denim orders receive dedicated production scheduling, priority fabric allocation, and a dedicated QC inspector for the full run. Orders can mix fits (slim, wide-leg, barrel) within the same production run as long as each style meets the 100-piece per colorway minimum.

Denim Fabric Weights, Selvedge vs Regular, and Stretch Options

Denim selection determines how a jean ages, fades, fits, and holds its shape. Weight (oz/sq yd), weave type, and elastane content are the three specs that define the product. As a clothing manufacturer in Los Angeles, we source denim from LA and certified global denim mills (selvedge, stretch, raw, and overdyed) to match your brand's price point and performance target.
