Each style requires specific fabric handling — satin sets require care on cuts and seams to prevent fraying; brushed cotton sets need tension calibration for the nap direction; modal and bamboo viscose sets require low-heat pressing. All styles are patterned from your tech pack or reference garment.

Brushed cotton (flannel) is the standard for classic pajama sets — it's soft, durable, machine washable, and takes prints well. Modal is a semi-synthetic fiber prized for its silky hand feel, drape, and moisture-wicking properties — ideal for temperature-regulating sleepwear. Bamboo viscose is similar to modal in hand feel but is positioned as an eco-credential; it's softer than cotton and has natural breathability. Satin (polyester charmeuse) is used for luxury-positioned gift sets and bridal sleep sets — it photographs well and requires careful construction. Soft-hand jersey (cotton or modal blend) is used for sleep rompers and knit sleep shorts sets. Woven cotton (poplin, voile) is used for classic button-front pajama shirts in pajama sets and nightgowns.

Children's sleepwear in sizes 9 months through 14 years is regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under 16 CFR Part 1615 and 1616. Garments must either be made from inherently flame-resistant fabric or be snug-fitting to a specific measurement tolerance per size. We produce both types: inherently flame-resistant fabric sets (the fabric itself meets the standard, no chemical treatment required) and snug-fitting designs (cut to specific measurements that qualify as tight-fitting per CPSC specs). All children's sleepwear is labeled with the required care instruction and compliance language. We do not apply flame-retardant chemical treatments to meet this standard.

Our minimum is 100 pieces per style per colorway for standard adult pajama sets. Children's sleepwear, due to the additional compliance labeling and testing requirements, starts at 150 pieces per size run. For coordinated family sets (adult + kids in matching print), we recommend 200 pieces across the run to allow for matching fabric cuts from the same dye lot. Full package manufacturing covers every step: fabric and trims sourcing (buttons, elastic, piping, lace trim), pattern making, fit sampling, grading, bulk cutting, sewing (top and pant as a coordinated set), finishing (button attachment, waistband construction, cuff hemming), pressing, quality control, custom labels, and retail-ready packaging. For printed pajama sets, we also manage fabric printing coordination — digital print or screen print on a flat fabric roll before cutting. You submit your tech pack and approve the fit sample; we handle all production steps and vendor coordination.

For custom prints, we work with digital print-on-fabric services (best for complex or photographic prints, no minimum per colorway) and screen printing on fabric roll (best for flat repeat patterns at volume, lower cost per unit at 500+ yards). All print files are reviewed for repeat alignment before cutting — incorrect repeat mapping causes mismatched seam patterns, which is a common quality failure in printed pajama production. Print placement at collar, pocket, cuff, and waistband seams is confirmed in the tech pack.

Elastic waistbands in pajama pants are sewn as a casing (fabric tunnel through which elastic is threaded) or with exposed elastic (elastic sewn directly to the waist with topstitching). Drawstring pajama pants require reinforced drawstring channels and safety-compliant string length for children's styles. The crotch seam on pajama pants is typically a flat-felled seam for durability or a serged seam for soft-hand fabrics. Pajama tops use a simple set-in sleeve or raglan construction; button-front pajama shirts are constructed with a placket and collar identical to dress shirt construction. Side piping, contrast trim, and lace trim at neckline and cuff are common and are mapped in the tech pack.

Yes. Coordinated family pajama sets in adult (XS-3XL) and children's sizes (2T-14) from the same print fabric, cut from the same dye lot, are a specialty service. Matching sets require unified size grading from adult down to toddler with proportional print scaling for each size range. The primary production challenge is matching color dye lots across fabric widths for different size cuts — all fabric for a coordinated family set is ordered together from the same dye lot to ensure color consistency. Children's sizes in the set must comply with CPSC sleepwear requirements (snug-fitting construction per CPSC measurements, or inherently flame-resistant fabric with correct labeling).

Yes. Private label pajama manufacturing includes custom woven labels (brand name, logo), printed care labels with fiber content, country of origin, size, and CPSC compliance language where required, poly bags or gift box packaging, and hangtags. Gift box packaging for pajama sets — folded set in a branded box with tissue paper — is available for holiday gift sets and retail positioning.
